♂CHAPTER TEN♀

“Aye, give me that thang!” Gio ordered, huffing and puffing.

“For what?”

“Man, just give it here!”

Lenea called herself “expanding” her hustle. She purchased a pound of weed and a .38 caliber revolver for protection. However, being a chronic user of the product coupled with the idea of posting on the street corner with a gun tucked by her hip didn’t sit well. Eventually, she indulged in her drug of choice and stashed the gun in her closet.

Without incident, she handed the gun over to Gio. In haste, he rushed from the house, jumped inside the rental car and sped off. Dismissing his strange behavior, Lenea got comfortable for a short nap.

“What happened?” Lenea asked, hearing sirens in the distance when she opened the back down to admit Gio entrance.

“Man, this bitch that I use to fuck with called asking for some weed. So, I go and serve her and noticed the bitch acting all funny and shit. I took my bundle out and tossed her some sacks when this nigga rushed out of the back with a gun! I wasn’t strapped, so I let the nigga have the shit. That’s why I came and got that thang from you and did what I had to do!”

Gio shot both occupants of the house. They weren’t seriously wounded and they both gave descriptions of him. Since Gio was already popular amongst the Oakland police, they knew just were to go looking for him.

With at least a dozen officers and a helicopter searching above and inside of Gio’s known residence, they waited until things cooled before making their exit out of Oakland.

Lenea rented a room in Castro Valley and they secluded themselves. Once antsy, Gio soon transformed into his smooth laid back self as they went out and purchased food, clothes, and toiletries nearby.

A few days spent confined granted them time to get to now more about one another. The more time they spent, the more feelings began to take shape. Moreover, the sex was off the chain! Lenea was officially addicted.

The following week carried Lenea and Gio to Sacramento. Squandering the last of their cash on motels, take-outs, and clothes, their reserve was almost depleted.

Lenea made a desperate decision to run her personal accounts for all she could. She didn’t consider or care about the consequences. All she thought about was surviving.

Together, they made trips back and forth to the bay so Lenea could use her home computer and scanner to print out fraudulent payroll checks for herself. Because she had previously worked behind the scenes, she knew exactly what the tellers would be looking for. Upon successfully busting all eight checks, they called it a day.

Back in their room, they engaged in laughter as they played dominoes, drank Seagrams gin with orange juice and Hennessy for Gio. The flux in which the chronic smoke blew somehow changed Gios’ mood.

Out of nowhere, Gio punched Lenea in the face so hard that she saw stars before collapsing to the floor.
